Welcome to the Spring 2020 edition of our newsletter.
We love to get out and about in the community, recently we have enjoyed trips to museums, the library and local parks. The children showed an interest in dinosaurs so we arranged a trip to the Hancock Museum to visit the giant Trex to support their interests and enhance their learning. We have also enjoyed visiting the local fruit shop where we were able to choose our fruit, check the weight and pay for our shopping ourselves. In the local fruit shop we found it to be less busy than the big supermarkets and we were able to spend time talking about the different fruit and veg on offer. We brought the fruit and veg back to nursery and explored the differing tastes at snack time!
We love to get involved with festivals and celebrations, we recently took part in Shrove Tuesday celebrations. We had fun creating our own pancakes, experimenting with toppings and talking about our likes and dislikes. We also attempted to toss 'our pancakes' which proved to be quite amusing. We took part in National Storytelling week which involved trips to the local library, dressing up as our favourite characters and taking part in story themed activities. We look forward to taking part in St. David's Day, St.Patrick's Day, World Book Day and Easter over the coming weeks. Recently we sent out All About Me booklets to find out a little more about the children that attend our nursery and their families, please let us know if you have a special event or celebration that we could join in with at nursery. We would really appreciate it if anyone who hasn't already returned their booklet could do so as soon as possible.
We have welcomed Caitlin, the newest member of Little Butterflies team. The children are really looking forward to really getting to know her and she has really settled in well.
We recently supported this fabulous charity, close to our hearts. It was lovely to see the family behind the charity get the recognition and support they deserve by being gifted a house on Saturday Night Takeaway. Darcey's Dream is a North East based Charity supporting newly bereaved families and siblings.
